Always wanting to try something new and experiment, Cecelia Mitchell took interest in this very complex process. These pieces are produced in a dedicated kiln that relies on an injection of Soda Bi-carbonate and Soda Ash at high temperatures to make the pieces “glaze atmospherically”. This highly unpredictable firing process can produce some really stunning results.
